Ch. Ghulam Nabi Shahid, Chairman of Overseas Pakistani Citizens’ Organisation has expressed his deepest grief and sorrow on the loss of over 2500 precious lives in Nepal by the devastating earthquake of 7.8 magnitude that struck the country on Saturday.
In the message to the Nepalese High Commissioner, the OPCO Chairman said he is “deeply saddened and shocked” by the loss of more than 2500 precious lives and that many others were injured in the earthquake.
He expressed his deep sympathy to the relatives of the quake victims and the effected.
He highly appreciated the immediate aid and support sent by the the Government of Pakistan for the people and the Government of Nepal which surely will help the victims cope with the aftermath of the quake.
At the same time he appealed the people of Pakistan, particularly the Overseas Pakistani Citizen’s to come forward and help the people of Nepal to fight this unexpected disaster through the Government of Pakistan.
He added that, under the leadership of Koirala, the Nepalese government and people would overcome the disaster, and rebuild their homes.
